Samsung Galaxy Note 10 rumored to ditch headphone jack

Wait — no, I’m not. As much as I respect the original intent of the holiday (which became official back in 1894), to most of us, it’s just a bonus day off — one that’s blissfully tacked onto a weekend. So, yeah, stores; go ahead, run your sales. I’m listening. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Labor Day doesn’t bring out bargains to compete with the likes of Black Friday (which will be here before you know it), but there are definitely some sales worth your time. For example:We’ve rounded up the best Labor Day mattress deals. We’ve also gathered the best Labor Day laptop deals at Best Buy.The 2019 Vizio P Series Quantum is back under $999.Be sure to check out Amazon’s roughly three dozen Labor Day deals on TVs and audio. Google Express is having a big sale as well, one that includes deals on game consoles, AirPods, iPhones, laptops and more.Below I’ve rounded up a handful of individual items I consider to be the cream of the crop, followed by a handy reference guide to other Labor Day sales. Keep in mind, of course, that products may sell out at any time, even if the sale itself is still running. Note that CNET may get a share of revenue from the sale of the products featured on this page. Sprint Tags Boost Mobile $155 at Google Express Aug 31 • Your phone screen is gross. Specs include an Intel Core i7 processor, 12GB of RAM, a 256GB solid-state drive and a 15.6-inch display. However, I strongly recommend paying an extra $50 to upgrade that display to FHD (1,920×1,080), because you’re not likely to be happy with the native 1,366×768 resolution. Recently updated to include digital-photo-frame capabilities, the Lenovo Smart Clock brings Google Assistant goodness to your nightstand. Samsung said it doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation. Apple made the controversial move to remove the 3.5mm port when it released the iPhone 7 in 2016. Google, OnePlus, Huawei and others followed suit by removing the jack from their flagship phones, with Samsung being the most notable phone maker keeping it. Physical buttons appear to be slowly on the way out as more phone makers look to create sleeker designs. A reveal for the Note 10, sometime this summer, will answer other big questions, such as will there be multiple models, what will the battery capacity be and is there going to be a camera on the stylus.  Read the AirPods review Best laptops for college students: We’ve got an affordable laptop for every student. We dont have pressure only 15 billion people expect us to win

first_imgPandya mentioned that he cherishes his memories of the night India won the World Cup in 2011 after 28 years under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The men in blue had defeated Sri Lanka in the final on April 2, 2011 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, to lift the coveted trophy. India chased a target of 275 runs set by their opponents with brilliant knocks from Gautam Gambhir and MSD.”On July 14, I want the Cup in my hand. Even when I think of it (2011 win), it gives me goosebumps. Playing the World Cup 2019 has been a dream and my teammates are my brothers. My plan now is simple: win the World Cup, and I’m hoping that and I expect that from myself,” Pandya further added. The stylish all-rounder who is known for being aggressive on the field has been in good form with the bat in this year’s edition of the tournament. His overall strike-rate in the World Cup till now is 185.29, which is quite impressive. The Virat Kohli led side would like to continue their winning stride in the biggest cricketing event of the year. Hardik PandyaReutersIndia is performing quite well in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 campaign and just ahead of their clash with New Zealand, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya stated, in a sarcastic vein, that there is no pressure on the Indian team as ‘only’ 1.5 billion Indians are expecting the men in blue to lift the coveted trophy. He jokingly gave the statement in an interview with the International Cricket Council (ICC). The 25 year old cricketer said, “No pressure because only, maybe, 1.5 billion people are expecting that, so no pressure at all.”He expressed his desire to lift the coveted trophy on July 14 at Lords. According to him, playing India is his ‘life’ and it ‘means everything’ to him. “Playing for India means everything to me, this is my life. I am someone who plays the game with love and passion and loves challenges. For two-three years, I have been preparing for this (World Cup) so the time has come,” the Mumbai Indians star told ICC.last_img read more

PostMugabe presidential race in Zimbabwe on July 30

first_imgA Zimbabwe Electoral Commissioon (ZEC) official files through the voters roll at an inspection centre in Harare, ahead of Zimbabwe election. Photo: AFPZimbabwe announced on Wednesday it would choose a new president and parliament on 30 July, in the country’s first electoral test since the removal of its autocratic former leader Robert Mugabe. His successor, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, unveiled the date in the official Zimbabwe Government Gazette.”Monday, the 30th day of July, 2018 (is) the day of the election to the office of President, the election of members of the National Assembly and election of councillors,” Mnangagwa said in a proclamation.Once a right-hand man to the 94-year-old Mugabe, Mnangagwa dramatically succeeded the veteran leader in November after nearly four-decades in charge when troops swarmed the streets and briefly seized key sites.Mnangagwa, 75, will square off against the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party, now led by 40-year-old Nelson Chamisa following the death of Morgan Tsvangirai in February. If no candidate receives a simple majority in the first round of the presidential election, a run-off will be held on 8 September.Elections under Mugabe were marred by corruption, intimidation and violence, but Mnangagwa has vowed to hold a free and fair vote. The election will be the first to be monitored by Western observers in many years. On Monday Harare and the European Union announced that observers from the bloc would monitor polls in the southern African country for the first time in 16 years.- Western observers -The head of the last EU observer mission, Pierre Schori, was thrown out of Zimbabwe in 2002 on the eve of presidential elections that were condemned as flawed.Following the high-profile spat, Zimbabwe barred the EU and other Western observers from sending further missions to monitor polls in the country as Mugabe grew more and more defiant of foreign criticism up until his downfall. And in a further sign of Zimbabwe’s growing efforts to mend fences with former foes following Mugabe’s resignation, the country has applied to re-join the Commonwealth, the bloc of former British colonies said Monday.Harare’s membership was suspended in 2003 over the violent and graft-ridden elections the previous year.Zimbabwe left the Commonwealth at the height of violent land seizures, when white farmers were evicted in favour of landless black people — a policy that wrecked agriculture and triggered economic collapse.Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland confirmed that the organisation would also send observers to the elections.Mugabe sent shockwaves through the ruling ZANU-PF, the party he dominated for decades, when he recently posed with a retired general who will take on the government in this year’s election.Despite a slew of reformist pledges and announcements it is unclear whether Mnangagwa, who was a vital cog in the ZANU-PF party and helped Mugabe to hold onto power for 37 years, has won the support of ordinary Zimbabweans.last_img read more
