It was their home game, so there were a few moments where we were deep and had to defend, but overall I think we did very well.“Especially in an away game, to score early gives the team more confidence and takes off a lot of pressure.“Today, two goals was massive for us. It (allowed) us to control the game. It is tucked away in an industrial park. near the 15/94 interchange, across a freeway from a Costco and two miles east of downtown.Manager Peter Yousif told City News Service there was a long line out the door of the dispensary.“We’ve been slammed since opening at 7 a.m.,” said Yousif. ”We have a line out the door right now. We expected it.”Yousif said about 250 people had visited the dispensary during its first four hours of operation on New Years Day.The marijuana dispensary operator said he felt there was a lot of pent-up demand for the now-legal drug.“I think it will be like this for at least a few months,” Yousif said. ”Before, some people were reluctant to try it because they were concerned about getting a medical marijuana card. But now that it its legal, people are more willing to try it.”Yousif cited a case in point.“I had a lady who came in here today who hadn’t done marijuana in 30 years,” he said. ”She said, ‘Now that it is recreational — I want to try it out again.’“Urban Leaf in Golden Hill will be open until 9 p.m.In 2016, Californians voted to legalize sales of recreational marijuana for anyone age 21 and older. It is now legal to purchase marijuana for recreational use at licensed shops as well as to grow, possess and use limited quantities of cannabis. The state led the country in efforts to legalize marijuana. Through Proposition 215, passed in 1996, California became the first state to legalize the drug for medical use.In November 2016, state voters passed an amendment legalizing recreational use of marijuana taking effect Jan. 1, 2018.Join the conversation on our Facebook page:
Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain (R-Ariz.) this week indicated he would allow civilian nominations to the Defense Department to advance to the chamber floor as soon as President Obama signs the reworked version of the fiscal 2016 defense authorization bill into law.“We want the NDAA signed,” McCain said, reported Politico. “Then, we’ll look at the whole situation.” McCain has been sitting on more than a dozen civilian nominees, refusing to schedule confirmation hearings. On Thursday, the House easily approved the revised fiscal 2016 authorization bill, 370 to 58. The Senate is scheduled to take up the measure next Tuesday. The amended version authorizes $5 billion less in funding than the original, after last week’s budget agreement called for $33 billion in defense spending above the Budget Control Act cap for FY 2016, an increase that didn’t quite meet the $38 billion in extra funds Congress and the administration had planned for.Earlier this week, the House and Senate Armed Services committees and defense appropriators agreed on cuts to reduce the topline funding level in the authorization bill by $5 billion.McCain has been slowing the advance of civilian nominations through his committee since he became chairman at the beginning of the year. There currently are 13 civilian nominations for DOD posts pending in his committee, including Eric Fanning to be secretary of the Army and John Conger to be the principal deputy to the Pentagon comptroller.Initially McCain said the suspension of hearings and votes on civilian nominations was payback for Democrats changing Senate rules while they were still in the majority to allow for simple majority votes to end debate on nominees. But more recently his rationale focused on Obama’s threat to veto the conference report for the defense authorization bill over its reliance on DOD’s war account to evade the statutory spending caps.Even if McCain allows civilian nominees to advance to the full Senate for confirmation, individual senators still could place holds on their nominations, the story noted. He said that the chip concept from iSmart Shankar starring Ram Pothineni is inspired by Hollywood movies.iSmart Shankar is slated for release in the cinema halls on July 18. Kick-starting its publicity, the makers of the film recently released its trailer on the internet. Somehow I wanted to make a hit film and in this process met Ram. He told me to write a bad boy kind of a role for him and that is how ISmart Shankar was born. The chip concept is inspired by Hollywood films and I have set the rest of the story in Telangana,” Puri Jagannadh told in an interview to 123Telugu.The director denied having difficulty in adapting the Telangana dialect for iSmart Shankar. “I did not do any homework for the Telangana backdrop. One of my co-directors helped me with the dialect and as my wife is from Telangana I am used to this style of speaking at home,” added Puri Jagannadh.Talking about Ram Pothineni, Puri Jagannadh heaped praises on the hero. The director said, “Ram has this crazy energy which has not been tapped by many directors. I tried to bring all of that out and as his role is a local mass guy, Ram has gone all out and his performance is the biggest highlights of the film. I feel that the newcomers should learn how to act after seeing Ram’s performance.”iSmart Shankar is an action film, which is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, who has also jointly produced it with actress Charmme Kaur. Ram Pothineni is seen romancing two young actresses like Nidhhi Agerwal and Nabha Natesh in the film, which is expected to bring back the fallen glory of both the hero and director.
