Howard’s 24.3 points per game average ranks fifth in the nation.• Husky Boards: Houston Baptist ranks first nationally in offensive rebounds per game with 16.1.• Southland Steals: Two Southland teams rank in the top five for steals per game and total steals. Nicholls is second in the nation for total steals with 205 and fourth for steals per game with 10.3. Stephen F. Austin is second in steals per game with 11.3 and third for total steals with 203. New Orleans (8-9, 5-1 SLC), Stephen F. Austin (15-3, 4-1 SLC), Sam Houston State (10-8, 4-1 SLC) and Southeastern Louisiana (10-8, 4-1 SLC) each have a chance to remain with one Southland loss after this week since none of the one-loss teams play each other. Nicholls is idle for the rest of the week. Additional Storylines: FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls improved to 6-1 with a 91-61 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday to tipoff week four of Southland Conference play. The Lions, who are the only team undefeated on the road in league play, will have two home contests this week: Tonight at 7 p.m. against Houston Baptist (4-14, 0-5 SLC) and Saturday at 5 p.m. against Northwestern State. The Privateers saw their first conference loss come at SFA last Wednesday before earning a 61-55 win over the Islanders (4-12, 1-5 SLC) at home this past Saturday. UNO hosts the current Southland leading scorer, Jordan Howard, and the Central Arkansas Bears (9-10, 3-3 SLC) tonight at 7 p.m. CT.
