first_imgATHENS – With the game in turmoil over violence, the headquarters of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO)were evacuated after a bomb threat Nov. 25.Police said an anonymous caller warned that a bomb will go off inside the building. They cleared the area before bomb disposal experts moved in to search.The caller said telephoned the Efimerida ton Syntakton daily around 11:20 a.m. (4:20 a.m. EST) warned that an explosive device has been planted on the site of the building and would detonate at 1 p.m. (6 a.m. EST). There were no reports it had.On Nov. 24 a bomb exploded outside the offices of the Greek business federation (SEV) in central Athens, badly damaging the nearby Cypriot Embassy but causing no injuries.Greek soccer, riddled with match-fixing charges, is in further disarray after the game between the two top powers, Panathiniakos and Olympiacos was canceled because fans threw flares and battled with riot police.TweetPinShare0 Shareslast_img
